Please Help Us, Help You!
By now we hope you have heard about the gas and venting issues that threaten your ability to continue work as you know it in the State of New Jersey. The Mid-Atlantic, Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Associations Government Affairs team has been working vigorously to protect the livelihood of hearth retailers, hearth installers, service companies and anyone who installs a venting system, along with their employees, from the grasp of the NJ HVACR Licensing Law.
Due to the tireless efforts of MAHPBA’s Government Affairs Committee, the MAHPBA New Jersey Subcommittee and the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Associations Government Affairs team, we have been able to fight off N.J.A.C. 13:32A for some time now. We tried several times to correct the wrong by the HVACR Board ruling and seek a resolution by way of regulation. This failed time and time again; in fact, MAHPBA’s Government Affairs Team was told that the only way to fix the problem, was through legislation.
Earlier this year, with the help of the HPBA, MAHPBA introduced the MHP Bill S1303/A3118 into legislation; The Bill was quickly picked up, sponsored and cosponsored. The MHP Bill was just recently approved and released from the Senate Commerce Committee. We are picking up momentum and on to the next step.
This is where we need your help! To date several of you along with MAHPBA and the HPBA have donated funds. We are asking again for your help. With the exception of our attorney (Steve Corodemus) all work is being done by volunteers. Please Help MAHPBA pass the MHP Bill by making a nontaxable financial donation to this worthy cause. All funds received will be used strictly for NJ Government Affairs.
Thank you in advance,
